Slowly developing future plans – an update

As promised, we are going to try to keep the community updated as our plans slowly evolve.

We are still having the odd technical setback with the turbine operation, the latest being the runner having to be removed for repair. But we are back up and running again now and operating on the summer compensation flow rates.

As a Board, our ideas and discussions are currently focused on 3 different topics: home heating, energy efficiency for schools and developing a process for opening up to energy project proposals from members of our community as our finances slowly recover.

We are currently investigating the possibility of helping energy efficiency in our local schools via the UK Energy Sparks service.

We are about to pilot individual greener home heating consultations offered by The Heating Hub. If we get good feedback from the two guinea pig pilots, we will look at a way of part subsidising The Heating Hub consultation fees for interested homes in our community.

We are open to hear from community members or local organisations with energy projects or energy challenges they would like expert advice on or to explore. We do not have the expertise or free time to work on or advise on these ourselves but are happy to discuss how to apply to Talybont Energy for funding to explore or progress such projects. We will publicising more on these opportunites in due course.
