Our Rewear Event on Sunday was the culmination of Yasmin Saboor’s project on energy, fashion and recycling funded by Talybont Energy. Over 50 local people of different generations visited during the day, some learning for the first time how to operate a sewing machine or how to mend a worn shirt collar or sew on a button or modify an item of clothing. Many others enjoyed the free clothes swap element – having donated some items of their own walking out with some fresh outfits to enjoy thereby saving items going to landfill.

After multiple requests about follow on activities for learning and/or sharing sewing skills plus more clothes swap opportunities, we are getting together with some volunteers to discuss what might be possible and will post an update here in the next few weeks.
